AUDI
RETURN TO SNAKE RIVER
Stretching ten ft. wide and reaching over 100 ft. long with up to three layers of steel and aluminum support structures, Show Motion Engineering, Inc. presents the design, engineering, and fabrication of the Extended Stunt Car Ramp for Audi promoting their 2013 RS5 Coupe. Using Evel Knievel’s infamous 1974 attempt to ride his Skycycle X-2 and jump Snake River Canyon in Twin Falls, Idaho, as the core inspirational concept for their extended commercial, Audi brought the controlled
spectacle back to Snake River Canyon to recreate this well-known stunt aesthetically. The ramp has a 14 ft. maximum height and includes a cross-membered 6” steel square tube foundation structure, eight aluminum truss structures, and a curved steel frame structure completed with the wooden ramp affixed as its top surface.
